Burger with Salt and Pepper Chips
-
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
-
Peel and slice the potatoes into chips or fries. Toss them in olive oil, salt, pepper, and Chinese five-spice powder.
-
Spread the chips on a baking tray and bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and crispy.
-
While the chips are baking, prepare the burger patties. Season the beef patties with salt and pepper and cook them in a pan over medium heat for 4-5 minutes per side until cooked through.
-
Slice the bell peppers and onions. In a separate pan, heat a tablespoon of oil and sauté the vegetables for 5-7 minutes until soft and slightly caramelized.
-
Toast the burger buns lightly in the oven or in the pan, if desired.
-
Assemble the burgers by placing lettuce, cooked beef patties, ketchup, mayonnaise, and any other toppings you like on the buns.
-
Serve the burgers with the salt and pepper chips and sautéed vegetables on the side.
