Cook penne pasta in a pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions.

In a separate pan, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat.

Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cook until fragrant.

Add tomato sauce and vodka, stir and bring to a simmer.

Add heavy cream and stir until well combined.

Simmer for a few minutes, then add salt and black pepper to taste.

Add cooked penne pasta to the sauce and toss until the pasta is coated in sauce.

Serve hot with grated parmesan cheese on top.
