Classic Mac and Cheese
-
Cook the macaroni pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
-
In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk continuously to create a roux. Cook for 2-3 minutes to remove the raw taste of the flour.
-
Gradually pour in the milk, whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens to a smooth consistency.
-
Reduce the heat to low and add shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan. Stir until the cheeses are completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
-
Season the cheese sauce with salt and pepper to taste. For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of mustard or a dash of hot sauce if desired.
-
Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring to coat the pasta evenly.
-
Serve the Classic Mac and Cheese hot, garnished with additional grated cheddar and Parmesan if desired. Enjoy your creamy and comforting dish!
